Master the Art of Blackjack
This popular card game is amongst one of the top favourite games to play at a land based or at an online casino. There is a bit of brains required behind the Blackjack strategy but its super quick to pick up on and therefore makes this game a favourite amongst beginners as well as expert players. The payouts are well worth it, and once you’ve mastered the sequences you’ll be able to pave your own way to success.
Learn the Basics and Win Big
The aim of the game, or should I say number, is 21. You will need to focus on getting the value of your cards as close to the number 21 as possible. The competition is limited as you’ll only be playing against the virtual dealer. The dealer will deal you 2 cards face up, and deal himself 2 cards, one of which will be facing upwards and the other will be facing down. If the dealer has a better hand than you, he wins and vice versa. If your total is the same as the dealers it’s called a ‘push’ and neither of you win, but in this case you can at least keep your original bet.
If you’re dealt 2 cards and after you’ve added up the total and it’s sitting on a very low number you can choose to pick up another card to include as part of your total points.
If your 2 cards equal a number that’s close to 21 you can pick another card which is called a ‘hit’ or you can choose to stay or ‘stand’ where your hand remains as is. If you choose to ‘hit’ another card and your total point value exceeds 21 points you will automatically lose that round.
If your 2 cards are an Ace and a face value of 10 equalling 21 on the first round that is a ‘Blackjack’ hand.
Know the Face Values
It doesn’t help knowing the aim of the game but not knowing the face values that will make up total points of 21. Cards 2 to 10 are at face value, i.e. a 5 is a total of 5 points. If you get a Jack, Queen or King, the face value here would be 10 in points. If you get an Ace you can choose for the value to either be counted as a 1 or an 11.
Tricks of the Trade to Increase Your Winnings
There aren’t really any tricks to take note of. Some online players like to card count or calculate the odds after every hand dealt, but as you can imagine this can get rather complicated and doesn’t prove to be worth it really.
To increase your winnings however obviously depends on the amount you bet, if you bet more you win more. Another way is if you get 2 of the same card values in the hand that the dealer deals out you can choose to split your hand. By doing this you’ll literally be able to play 2 games at the same time and in so doing you’ll be automatically doubling your winnings.
